1. Le Louvre Museum, Paris:

It’s no wonder one of the most famous museums in the world is located here, in Paris. This city has produced so many talented, marvellous painters, who in turn have given back to the city in the form of stunning masterpieces! The Le Louvre Museum displays all such beautiful works of art- ranging from paintings to sculptures – this museum has it all!

2. The Prado, Madrid:

The credit for this museum goes entirely to the Spanish Roayla family, whose efforts have made this museum what it is today! 4. Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam:

1. Mona Lisa-

Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci is one of the most treasured paintings in the world. The picture was worked on by Da Vinci from the year 1503 to 1504 before his death in the year 1519. The original copy of the painting is located in the Louvre museum in Paris, where an annual crowd of six million visitors travels to see the famous painting.

2. The Last Supper-

This is yet another world-famous 15th-century painting by the one and only master of the art, Leonardo da Vinci. What’s unique about this painting is that it is not on display in any museum or gallery, but it covers the back wall of the dining hall at the Santa Maria delle Grazie monastery situated in Milan, Italy. The painting is a depiction of the Last Supper of Jesus alongside his loyal disciples.

3. The Creation Of Adam –

This painting is portrayed on the ceiling of The Sistine Chapel in Vatican City, Rome. The creation of Adam was painted by the great artist Michelangelo between the years1508 and 1512. The painting is the depiction of one of the nine scenes from the book of Genesis.

4. Starry Night –

The Starry Night is a masterpiece of the late 1800s painted by none other than the Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh in the year 1889. This painting set the foundation stone for modern art and is now a part of the permanent collection in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

5. The Scream –

The Scream is Edvard Munch’s most applauded work that neared completion around the year 1893. The painting for made using oil and pastel on a piece of cardboard. The Scream is one of the world’s scariest paintings and is now on display at The National Gallery in Oslo, Norway.

6. The Persistence Of Memory –

This was painted in the year 1931 by the famous Spanish artist Salvador Dali and is one of the most revered and recognized pieces in the history of art. It is believed that Albert Einstein’s Theory of Relativity inspired this wonderful painting.

7. Self-Portrait Without Beard –

This is yet another Vincent van Gogh painting. Although Van Goh is known to have painted many self-portraits, this one is particularly unique as it was not only his last ever self-portrait but also one of the very rare paintings of himself sporting a clean-shaven look.  It is said that he gave this painting to his mother as a gift.

8. Guernica –

Last but not least, the Guernica is one of Pablo Picasso’s most famous works. It is said that this painting was inspired by the bombings of Guernica in Spain during the Spanish Civil War. This painting was completed in the year 1937. This painting is now permanently on display at  Museo Reina Sofía, Madrid, Spain
